City Hospital

I was referred to City Hospital for breast cancer treatment. I had all initial tests here and everything moved along quickly from mammogram to treatment. I attend every three months. Treatment was good and the staff were lovely.

I went for a booked appointment and waited for four hours. I was waiting for a check up after laser treatment and after 4 hours I was told all the doctors had gone home. They locked up as I was waiting there.

My labour was bad. My waters broke one month early and I was spotting. I stayed in as I was unwell. I googled my symptoms and found it could be something wrong with my liver but they didn't listen. Later they saw my liver was damaged and they accused me of drinking. They were gaslighting me. I was worried after my son was born I would drop him as I had carpal tunnel and had tingling and numbness in my arm. I was given painkillers and steroid injections but I didn't want them and then my immunity worsened.

I have PCOS and mental health issues. When I was at City the midwives were horrible. My son has autism and I wonder if the trauma I experienced here caused it. During my stay I had GBS, UTI, piles, sickness, anaemia, alopecia and suicidal thoughts. Suffered post natal depression afterwards.

They forgot to tell me important information when my mum was in hospital. I had to leave her in hospital once her care was given to her. Mum had to stay in hospital another night. I was furious. She came home on Friday and died the same day.

It took six weeks for me to get my money back after the admin made a mistake regarding how many days I was an inpatient in the hospital. I had to fight for my money back. They cause more problems than anything.

I was in the A&E in 2023 as I had passed out and had had a fainting episode. They said I would need to go for further blood tests and got it arranged.

My dad was admitted to City Hospital and needed an MRI. They were going to give him a general anesthetic due to his anxiety. Family members had to point out and remind them that he was also being treated for AF and that he could not have a general anesthetic due to the ongoing cardiac issue as it could be dangerous. It was a real concern as if family had not have been there they could have put him in danger.

They have long waiting lists so I would rate them 4 out of 5.

Last year my son came off his bike and was seen at A&E quickly.
