Too many questions

April 30, 2025
Sometimes they ask too many serious questions that aren't related to the situation and they shouldn't do that. They should just get into the nitty gritty. They need to get on with what the issue is. Then signpost you on from there.

Couldn't get through to them

I called them as I thought my partner was having a heart attack. We couldn't get through to talk to anyone, no answer so we ended up calling 999.

I called them when my blood pressure was very high and they called an ambulance. I went myself as the wait would have been up to 5 hours.

Too many questions

April 9, 2025
This is the problem, they ask you a heap of questions when your child is ill and needs to be seen. They say they will call back within 2 hours and he's struggling with breathing. We gave up in the end and took him to the Children's.

This morning I had an emergency and called 111. They were fantastic and responded quickly with advice to bring my daughter to the hospital for blood tests.

NHS 111

NHS 111 is much more than a helpline – if you're worried about an urgent medical concern, you can call 111 to speak to a fully trained adviser. Depending on the situation, the NHS 111 team can connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or even a GP, and can arrange face-to-face appointments if they think you need one. NHS 111 advisers can also assess if you need an ambulance and send one immediately if necessary.
